June is always a festive time at Democracy Prep. The weather is warm, the sun is out, the end of the school year is here, and our scholars get a well-deserved break. For our seniors, they’re excited for the same reasons and then some.
The senior class looks forward to events like prom, Senior Signing Day, and graduation, as well as starting the next chapter in their lives. It’s a time to celebrate their achievements, how far they’ve come, and where they’re headed.
To that end, we have had another successful college acceptance season! Here are just some DPPS college acceptance highlights:
• There are over 450 graduating seniors in our network this year.
• Across the Democracy Prep network, our senior class submitted 4,992 college applications. That’s an average of 11 applications per senior.
• Democracy Prep seniors applies to over 1,540 different colleges.
• Several seniors have also explored competitive programs and trade schools.
One thing remains true every year, and that is: we are so incredibly proud of this year’s graduating class! Our seniors have worked hard, there’s no doubt about that. They have had three school years impacted by the pandemic, they have pivoted to remote learning and transitioned back to in-person instruction all in the same year, they have had to navigate an increasingly complex world, and they have done so with incredible grace and resolve.
We see our seniors as the incredible young people that they are: people who have grown, learned, struggled, and triumphed. We have no doubt that with their guidance, the future is bright. Great things lie ahead for each and every one of our graduating seniors, and we can’t wait to see what they accomplish.
