Steve Robinson left his former job as the Special Assistant in the White House Domestic Policy Council, where he worked with Secretary of Education Arne Duncan and President Barack Obama, to teach science at Democracy Prep Charter High School. Democracy Prep alumni, staff, and teachers travelled to Egypt and South Africa for a three week journey in July!

At Democracy Prep's first-ever graduation ceremony held at the famous Apollo Theater, the United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon delievered the keynote address to the Class of 2017. Secretary-General Moon urged graduates to help solve global issues including climate change, poverty, and violence.
