In just our first year, our scholars made incredible academic gains. On the national Stanford 10 Exam, our scholars made an average of 3.1 grade levels of growth in just one year based on pre and post test assessments. They passed 35 percent of their peers nationally, and although just 17% started DPCS above average, after just one year, more than half of our students were above the national average academically.

Democracy Prep recently earned enough points to be one of the few charter schools in the city to earn an “A” rating on the citywide school report cards. The grade is based on the tremendous progress of our students on the NY state exams in Reading and Math as well as the dramatic increases in scores of our lowest performing students. These students grew at rates that far surpassed both our peer schools and the city as a whole.
